In June 1947 the Airforce released four top secret balloons that were designed to listen for nuclear bombs 10,000 miles away. One of these balloons blew off course and became the Roswell UFO. So why is Roswell still being questioned? There are many theories that people have created over time about what really happened at Roswell. One of the crazier theories is from a woman names Kristen corn who is from just outside of Roswell. She says that “the crash was caused by alien teenagers who slipped away from a mother ship and went for a joyride…” Gerald Anderson said that him and family went on a hike in the Plains of St. Augustin when he was only five years old. While they were there they came across the wreck. He said that they came across a large silver disk where there was aliens doing various things. Two appeared dead because of lack of movement, one seemed to be struggling to breathe and another was trying to help care for the others. As time passed from the actual even more and more witnesses came forward. One of these being a nurse from a base who claims

Something had fallen out of the sky and crashed on a ranch near Roswell (Spiegel), and the Roswell Army Air Field was alerted of the crash. A few members of the army were sent to retrieve the debris and wreckage. What was discovered was not exactly that of a UFO, such as the wooden sticks, pieces of rubber, and I-beams found, or perhaps that is just what the government wants people to think? Bodies were also discovered, though these bodies weren’t exactly human. The bodies were described with having “oversized heads and eyes”, and the bodies were also no taller than 5 feet, so they were also described as “children”.…

I had always been fascinated by modern mysteries and conspiracy theories, but before this class, I had no clue what to accept and how to analyze the information that I was presented to me. I chose the topic of the Moon Landing, because it enabled me to take a second look at the conspiracy theory through a new lens of experience. To understand where this idea of a hoax originates, we need to understand what was going on before the Apollo 11 moon landing. Starting in the 1950s, America was in a cold war with Soviet Russia, which was less of a physical battle and more of a challenge of who had a better structured government. It was a challenge of superiority that eventually led to the space race in 1955.…

As of the 21st century, it is no longer controversial to believe in the existence of extraterrestrial life. While in the 16th century, a belief that life existed beyond Earth and its atmosphere may have led to a public execution (like it did for astronomer, Giordano Bruno), the same belief is held by 54% of Americans today. Given the evidence gathered through advanced space exploration and technology, the scientific community, as well as the general population, is more inclined to believe in extraterrestrial life. However, something that is more debatable, is the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life.…
