Athletes get many injuries in their line of work and they need the money to pay the costs for these injuries. First, when most athletes get injured they stop playing and they need extra money to sustain their families. The families of these athletes need electricity, air conditioning, heat and shelter. This costs a lot of money especially if these athletes have big houses which they probably do. They also need to pay professional doctors and other people to take care or help them get better and, when they get hurt, it may cost thousands of dollars. A regular high school little league sports injury can cost up to $375 at the least. Professional athletes get many injuries and they need lots of skill to retain their professional athlete status. I have been playing different sports all my life, and they all require hard work. For example, my schedule includes conditioning, drills, training, education and good nutritional health during a significant part of my week. Professional athletes get criticized about their salaries every day and it is not even their fault that society wants to pay them this much for their unique skills. If one were blamed for being paid to much, would that be
