In the world we live in, it is an important concept to remember that poor people are needed for society to function. Never should anyone wish misfortune on any human being, but the way we operate together requires proletariat and the bourgeoisie. This idea comes from “Marxism theory” stating that class conflict comes into response to the modes of production. This is where the poor and rich come into play. The poor create a labor force to produce products, while the rich use their power in order to control the productivity of the products and keeping the profits in their favor to retain their bourgeoisie status. The explanation of why more money cannot be given to social welfare is an unreasonable one, while the program that is in place is barely helping people that really need it. Our government, as we know it appears to be in a fragile state. If the picture we see is correct, then how are we able to help other countries, but not our own citizens who are also homeless, hungry, and without proper job training ? Giving $320 a month to individuals who do not have anything and expecting them to make something out it is an unreasonable expectation. The social welfare program should allow those in need to get on their own two feet and create success for themselves. What is allotted to them does not support that outcome, but set one up for failure. When the purpose of social welfare is not being accomplished, there needs to be a different strategy in place with more realistic outcomes and expectations. Minorities are very disadvantaged and will continue to be disadvantaged if they are not given the same opportunities. A focal point of inequality comes from social disorganization, and the ethnocentric attitudes of our nation as a whole. The behavior in poor neighborhoods (often minorities) is consistently negative, and continues because there are no equal opportunities given to these individuals. They have no other place to turn. The best way to be understanding of this issue is to put you in their shoes, realizing that inequalities are rash and senseless and no one deserves to be treated that way. If poor neighborhoods are made better and become successful, then the inequalities will be taken away and these populations can prosper. Each individual is guaranteed equal human rights and when this is not honored, it becomes a very serious issue.
