Going back to the time between the 1780s-1800s, the U.S consisted of two major parties which included the, Federalist and the anti-federalist. The constitution did not provide any details about a two party system (Randall). Unlike Americas democratic two-party system, India which is the second largest democracy, consist of a multiparty system. With their multi-party system, it has allowed their population diversity to vote for the parties that best fit each citizen, from the Bharatiya party to the Communist party of India. The multi-party system of India represent the multi-cultural groups (). In America, a third-party system never lasted because, only one side can be chosen to one seat. The U.S third parties may consist of the Green Party, Reform Party, Libertarians, Constitution Party and Natural Law Party (Nwazota). Since Lincoln’s election, third parties have failed to be elected due to the winner -take all- system. During the presidential elections, the presidential candidate with the largest percentage number of votes usually get the states electoral votes (Nwazota).
