If you are found guilty of plagiarizing your professor can issue a zero grade or even dismiss you from the course. So if all your previous work was authentic and that last major project wasn’t, then you just lost all that hard work for nothing. Getting caught won't help your academic reputation either, in fact, it’ll only hurt it. Plagiarizing can also lead to expulsion, and that wouldn’t look good on a transcript.
