Why Plagiarism Is Bad

Students Who Plagarize Are Putting Their Education At Risk. Plagiarism is when someone takes credit for another person's work without citing and giving credit to the owner of the copyrights. Plagiarism is seen as taking someone else's work or ideas and reusing them as one's own. When a student plagiarizes it is a self reflection of who you are a person. When a student is plagiarizes someone else's work and turning it in as their own, the student is cheating himself or herself out of an education. Plagiarism is seen in many classrooms where a student can be copying homework ,cheating on an exam, or writing an essay. The benefit that comes from organizing and developing a point of view or constructing ideas of your own . Learning to develop different ideas are good for people. Learning to develop ideas is good for people because the physical act of reading and writing creates ways that are necessary to develop intelligence. Reading and writing makes you smart. When you read and write and do physical work like practicing,proofreading, and accepting criticism a student is showing they are gathering the information from the classroom and applying it.
When a student is caught plagiarizing there are many consequences . When attending college one of the consequences of plagiarism is that people who commit plagiarism is hurting themselves. Effective research and writing involves many skills: taking advantage of sources, taking careful notes in class, making quotations of words the original writer says, paraphrasing, and giving credit to the owners for their ideas. Students who plagiarize will not learn these skills. If the students do not learn these skills the time they spend in college and beyond can be difficult without the skills
