Within a period of seven years the beats company has skyrocketed to the top of the headphone industry surpassing popular brands such as Bose and Monster in the market. Now the brand formerly owned by Monster controls seventy percent of the headphone market and currently has a net worth of 3.2 billion dollars. The company has partnered with Apple and continues to have success in the big business. A great amount of their success can be related to their advertisement campaign. The enterprises campaign started in 2008 and escalated with several tactics. However, the most noticeable trait is using celebrity branding to endorse their products. By acquiring popular figures the brand attracted these stars audiences and can show off their audio devices. These famous individuals are normally respected sports figures, musicians and artist. Due to the company status and their celebrities status a multitude of fans become intrigued by these headphones since their idols or role models support the brand. An article, “ Why People Love Beats By Dre Headphones” written by Adrian Covert says, “Beats by Dr. Dre are popular because they don't reproduce music as much as they transform it. The only downside is they have a history of targeting either athletes or music lovers. When you look back at the multiple beats advertisements you see many people who are much-publicized such as; Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, Kobe Bryant and the list can go on. Anyhow what happened to a stay at home mom or bona fide husband? The beats brand doesn’t focus on these viewers, they typically target athletes, teenagers and music lovers.
