There could be other possible worlds with less pain or suffering, but our actual world is better because we can actually experience it. Critical Thesis Paper People are often being blamed or harmed by other human beings from something they are not responsible for. Children are innocent and ignorant of their actions, but suffer from the punishments or tortures from family or other human beings. Since God is powerful and great, why does he allow this to happen to his creations. Both “Rebellion,” by F. Fostoevsky and “Why God Allow Evil,” by Richard Swinburne focus on the existence of evil which is allowed by God. In “Rebellion,” Ivan raises a question of why God allows evil to harm and suffer human beings especially young children.…

The question of divine responsibility for evil within the Judeo-Christian tradition is a question that has been evident since the Babylonian exile. Irrespective of this, how this question used to be asked in the medieval/early church, and the way it is asked in the Modern Age is fundamentally different. In the early years, the question of evil and suffering was asked and answered with the knowledge that God’s existence was beyond doubt, but this significantly changed with time when the belief in God was no longer taken for granted. As a result, the belief in God, or having people to believe in God entirely relies on a perfect answer rather a satisfactory explanation of the existence of God. Question No. 1 Answer: Notwithstanding the traditional contentions for the existence of God, one issue has taken the type of a contention against God's existence: that issue is the problem of evil. One version of the problem of evil takes a purely logical structure: that is, it tries to demonstrate that the existence of evil and suffering is conflicting with certain traditional qualities of God. These qualities are omnipotence and goodness. Since God has both the methods and the motive to avoid or evacuate evil, it is hard to see why it ought to exist by any means. The second and more basic version of the problem is inductive as opposed to purely logical.…
