People boycott for many reasons. They may stand up because of what they believe in or think in. Well boycott is pretty much for what you stand up for in what you think is right or wrong. Does not really matter what it is but it is your decision.
One thing I stand up for is Gay rights. Gay rights have a lot to do of standing up. There is many people who think gay marriage is wrong and others who think it is wrong in many ways. They all have their reasons. For example, they might be against it because of their religion. Then there is those who think it is alright. I mean I have nothing against gay marriage but my religion does. Religion might be another thing anyone can stand up for. For those who are atheist and the ones who have a believe. Now

The believers believe in all of that. They pray, read the bible, and praise their God or gods. Now I am a believer and I believe in a God. I believe in Christianity so that is what I stand up for. Unlike other people. Another thing might be the Chicano movement. The Chicano movement was in the nineteen-sixtys through the nineteen-seventys. The reason why was because of the culture of Mexicans. They were racist to them. The movement was pretty much in California and the way they would protest would be by boycott and they will walk out of school to walk on the streets. The Mexicans could not do much. So everyone who was Mexican would stand up to the actual real world who would bully them and get revenge. How did they do it? Well they protested, which I already said, later on the government passed a law and now the Mexicans can do whatever they want like any other person living in the United States. Abortion is a very big problem to all of us. Most of the time everyone stand up to not aborting the child. Abortion is a very terrible action anyone can do. The humans getting it are horrible people I can tell you that but then also you can not judge a book by its cover. Abortion may

Kimberly Day 3/22/15 Journal #5 The top two reasons a student in college flunks or drops out of classes are because they don’t have time management skills or they are not financially responsible. Luckily for me, I am very strict with myself in both of these categories, as I feel they share equal importance to a student’s life. During my college years it is crucial that I keep a close eye on my bank statements and maintain my time management effectively if I want to be included in the numbers of students who succeed. For me, being a single mother puts a massive hold on my financial status, especially during this time of my life.…

Many people debate about the N-word (nigger) being banned. People have conflicting emotions about the word. In the poem “ Niggers Niggas & Niggaz” , the article “Oprah and Jay-Z Reopen N-Word Debate” and the news article “New York city council bans the N-word” all show their different opinions on the word and its use. Although people should be encouraged not to use the word, it should not be banned. ` I can’t take sides on the word (Nigger) because one, legislation can’t ban the word.…

I think that the non violent Boycott is the most effective protest this reason being, If you are being violent they automatically have a reason to not wanna support your cause then you could go to jail with nothing gained. The boycott tends to mess with the city meaning the city will have to be forced to pay more attention to your cause. Some might say why don't you just march? Marches work but it's not doing anything big so people are forced to pay attention the Montgomery Bus Boycott was the biggest boycott ever it is even talked about today.…

Failing grades are important; however, getting enough sleep is just as much of a necessity. Ripley stated ¨schools begin before 8 a.m.¨ and then they ¨spend long hours practicing (11). Ripley went on to say that schools start early “despite research showing that later start times improve student performance”(11). All this could be fixed very easily if we just exterminated sports programs. Students need more sleep to perform at their best in school.…

Why books are banned? Why are books banned? There are so many banned and challenged books we do not know why all of these books are banned? There is a distinct difference between the words “can’t” and “won’t.” When it comes to working with children, many people, myself included, may be using the words interchangeably when we should pay more attention to the student. It’s easy for an educator or parent to say that “he won’t listen” or “she won’t do her work.” Since I am an educator, and more specifically, an intervention specialist, I see parents coming in all the time, saying “my child won’t do anything I tell him to do,” or “she won’t listen to me.” I have even caught myself saying the word “won’t.”…

“Rates of child marriage have doubled in the past three years. Most of those girls will never go into a classroom again”(Malala Yousafzai). These kids in Syria don’t go to school at all and this is just one cause of the conflicts of Syria and Pakistan with the United States. Kids in Syria and Pakistan have a right to be in school as much as we do. Only because of these conflicts doesn’t mean kids should suffer from not going to school.…

Something I hate Fire is one of the main things that has allowed our race to advance; without it we would not be able to light furnaces, which power engines, which power cities, which allow us to live our technologically advanced lives. All mammals cannot survive without heat, it is something they all desire, due to the fear of hypothermia and other related conditions. Other mammals seek each other for warmth, we simply turn up the heating making our lives a shear privilege. Because of being spoilt on heat, we have become more sensitive to lower temperatures and having: goose bumps covering our skin, teeth chattering, body shaking and feeling uncomfortably cold are all symptoms of “something I hate”.…

Often, people that say they are "personally prolife" but would never impose their views on someone else. What they fail to realize is that this view is completely illogical. If abortion is truly murder, than we have the obligation to tell people not to do it. If it's not murder, there's no reason to be against it at all. To say, "I'm personally prolife, but I don't have to right to tell someone else what to do" is to say, "I'm personally against the slaughter of 700,000+ babies annually (this is from the CDC's website.…

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to feel unwanted? Welcome to my life. Our school is extremely bad about about leaving trash everywhere. They’re decisions are turning our school and athlete’s down tremendously. The problem on our campus consists of the students throwing trash on the ground, leaving empty soda cans and bottles outside on the benches, and dropping napkins and other trash on the cafeteria floor. I think this is an extremely big problem, but I also think the students are just continuing to be rude and lazy about this situation. Our school needs to find a way to help prevent this issue.…

I think that peaceful resistance to the law positively and negatively impacts on a free society because everyone will think it's okay to disobey the law no matter what happens to them afterwards. I also think that our generation is mess up because our society thinks that everyone that is white or not black is against us and that's not true. From my point of view I saw a white police officer saves a African American life from a burning building so then I knew that every white person is not against us some of them are with us. It impacts on us positively because we may look at it like all this race's stuff happen years ago and let it go and then some of may even help poor white people out because I see whit people help black poor people out.…

The research papers presented showed me that the topic of the paper does not have to be particularly controversial, as long as it has an argument it can be considered a research paper. The papers include facts, stay on topic, and thoroughly explain their topic before going into the main argument. For example, in the Yoga Take Over paper, there is some background information provided to set up for the argument. It is obvious that all these students did research(another reason it is called a research paper), that is evident in the lengthy works cited pages on the very end of all provided, and the numerous quotes that are spread throughout the…
