Now I realize he meant work hard and get exceptional grades so I can get into a favorable college and find a wonderful job. Some students are lucky and new material comes easy to them. They can hear it once and it will automatically be stuck in their brain. That’s never how it was for me. I have to work extra hard to get new information lodged in my brain, but I don’t mind it. Once I do memorize something I will remember it for a substantial amount of time. I always had to study way more than my friends and I always had a lot more homework than them. In my perfect world people would live healthy lives; they would always pick the healthy option rather than the cheap more convenient one. My desire to enter into the medical field and become a nurse stems back to when I was an adolescent; I can remember watching Dr. 90210 do multiple surgeries on patients and I can just remember myself saying “I want to be able to make people feel good about themselves, no matter what.”…

Before delving into more personal experiences to justify the correlation that exists between change and the past, there must be a light shed on the experiences of Native Americans, such as Chief Seattle, to better explain this relationship. Chief Seattle’s tribe of descent, the ancestral Suquamish, lived in Central Puget sound for 10,000 years. Chief Seattle, an advocate of peace and compromise in his old age, did participate in battle in his youth, but not for the reason that other Native American tribes used to fight. He protected the European settlers from the attacks of other tribes, finding the strengthening of bonds between the Europeans and Native Americans necessary for the survival of the Suquamish in the changing Americas. As territories…
