Why Do Men And Women Be Considered Equal?

Why men and women are not considered equal? Why are women be seen as the weaker sex?

Why do men continually make more money and hold higher positions than women? To date,

4.6% of CEO positions at Fortune 500 companies are held by women; that’s 24 of 500 women

CEO’s. Women with the credentials equal to or higher than their male counterparts continually

make less money and hold positions lower than the male population. We have had some great

women leaders who have tried to pave the way for other females. Women need to break the

glass ceiling and conquer their dreams and aspirations of CEO.

History

The first ever women CEO was Anna Bissell.Anna was the CEO of the Bissell Sweeper

Women educate themselves, fight the fight, walk the walk, talk the talk, and are not

considered CEO material. Women are considered the weaker sex. The weaker sex that can birth

a child, keep house, manage the day to day activities of the home, but they cannot run a

company? Why the glass ceiling for women? Who invented this cap on women? Studies have

shown that companies are more likely to bring in women and minority leaders during times of

turmoil and crisis and place them on the so-called “glass cliff” (Peck). Women in high ranking

positions, and women in businesses that are struggling are interesting to cover according to the

Huffington Post. Female leaders are also more willing to talk to the press and more likely to feel

comfortable doing so.

Conclusion

Women can and should be CEO’s. Women should not give up the fight to better themselves

and continue on achieving their dreams. Women need to break through the glass ceiling and

shatter it to pieces. Women need to follow in the footsteps of Anna Bissell, Katharine Graham,

Ursula Burns, and the current CEO’s. Today’s women need to let our younger generation know

that they can do anything they put their mind
