Why Marijuana Should Not Be Legalized

Las Vegas Nevada is one of the prettiest places to be in the morning to enjoy the birds chirping and the cool brisk breeze that swipes across your face that is, until that breeze turns into a nasty smell of smoke from multiple addicts trying to sell illegal via marijuana when you're young curious kids are tagging along right next to you. Every day this will happen on the streets of Las Vegas if we legalize it. Marijuana should not be legalized because of the terrible effects of the drug, the terrible environment the kids would have to grow up in, and the drug decimates many people's lives. Therefore marijuana should not be legalized. Furthermore one reason why marijuana should not be legalized is the effects of the drug both later on in life and in the present day. According to John Hawkins “ Movies portray fun loving people who smoke and stay at home giggling and eating Cheetos on the couch but they don’t show the side when they are flunking out of school or their boyfriend/girlfriend breaks up with them because they don't want to be with a marijuana smoking loser anymore.” This makes me think if they legalize marijuana it might just tear everything apart from relationships to your job at the office. Also studies show that students who smoke marijuana have a lower grade point average and a lower chance of getting into college than other students (John Hawkins). If marijuana can destroy that much of a part of your life I wonder how much more it can destroy in a matter of seconds. Finally do we really want to endorse the loss of millions of productive Americans to via marijuana (John Hawkins). To sum it all up if you would like to lose your whole life to marijuana go ahead and smoke it but keep in mind you won’t be the only one suffering from your
