“Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural?” (Bill Hicks) We are always told that that marijuana is a dangerous substance that could have a vastly negative impact on our lives, thus the reason for its illegality. But is it actually substantially more dangerous than alcohol, a substance that you could buy at almost any store around the corner? Both substances could have negative impacts on the human body and the people around the person consuming, but the question is, which is worse alcohol or marijuana? Marijuana could have some positive effects on the consumer, even curing some diseases like glaucoma, while alcohol doesn’t have any positive effect on consumption. Although marijuana is the drug that is illegal, it is alcohol that is truly the more dangerous drug.
