Lose Weight Before Prom

It seems like my New Year Resolution every year on January 1st is the same; to lose weight. Do I ever keep it? Turns out I don 't. I try to eat healthily, but I seem like I always find myself looking for the unhealthy snacks. My mornings start off healthy, I 'll eat a banana or maybe some strawberries for my breakfast, but then I get to school or I 'm at home looking for something to eat for lunch and the only thing that looks even remotely good, is something not healthy. It 's January, which means proms rolling around soon. In order to fit and look good in a prom dress, I need to lose weight. My goal starting today, January 21st, 2016, is to lose weight before prom.

My mom’s boyfriend, Terence, has a no carbohydrates policy. He does his best to not eat carbs every day of the week except on Sunday. Sunday is what he calls his free day, where he 's allowed to eat carbs, just not an excessive amount. I think this is a great idea and a great way to help me lose weight. Another strategy that I have is to just drink water. I believe that just drinking water will help keep myself not only healthy but in shape. Pop and Kool-Aid are bad for you, along with lemonade and or Gatorade. With that said, I 've chosen to just drink water to help me lose weight. The last strategy that I have came up with goes along with me being a procrastinator. The strategy is to work out after school and at home. I 'm currently working out for softball after school on Mondays and Wednesdays. At softball workouts, we run sprints and do ab workouts. I 'm also running a few miles on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a few friends. I know this strategy will work if I can manage to work out at home also. Eating no carbs, just drinking water, and finding time to workout, are the three strategies I 've come up with to help me achieve my goal of losing weight before prom in

In the book “The Naked Roommate” by Harlan Cohen there are five tips that I could take out and apply to my life about my own health. Being able to control my eating at my house where there aren't multiple fast food restaurants and an all you can eat buffet at Larson's commons was a lot easier than college. It can be hard to control myself from the temptations, but when I notice myself gaining weight it makes it a lot easier to want to go exercise and eat healthy. The second tip that can apply to me is “The student body image”, because body image is something that is very important to me.…

I plan to change my behavior by resolving to eat significantly less sugar than I currently do. On Lab 1.2, my nutrition score was two out of ten (2/10). I eat few fruits and vegetables, I never consider how many saturated or trans fats I consume and I eat copious amounts of sugar on a daily basis. The only reason I achieved a score of two is because I rarely skip meals, preferring to eat continuously. Despite these bad habits, I am not overweight.…
