Why does America have so many people that do not know how to speak Spanish, or French, etc? Why does America, the world leader, have so many people including government and military officials, that can’t communicate with other people in the world? The people of America should already know how to speak at least one foreign language. Learning a new language teaches so much to students. Students should be required to learn a second language.
First of all, students are exposed to another culture, and they learn new skills. According to “Why Learn Another Language?” in paragraph 6, “In the process of learning a language students are exposed to another culture.” The exposure can lead to students being sensitive to people different from themselves.
