Why Leadership Is Important

Being a leader is one of the most rewarding, satisfying and challenging roles you can have. I have learned firsthand the overall influence you can make and the ability you have to influence others while at the same time overcoming obstacles in pursuit of leadership.
Not everyone is going to agree with your methods. Finding the common ground is really important. In closing multiple points of view are highly necessary. I have had to figure out the best possible approach of handling a mission, while at the same time maintaining control and keeping everyone focused on the tasks at hand. After several warnings and multiple discussions he failed to make the necessary improvements so he was dealt with accordingly. As soldiers we are supposed to be dependable. Bad hygiene and personal care show a lack of importance. If you can't show importance in yourself and your appearance, then how are you to handle responsibility we work and live by ethics based on values?
