There is not enough time in the day to do homework. Most students have other activities to do that take up majority of their time. They go to school for about 6 to 7 hours a day then students are expected to do homework for more than an hour a night. In the article “Does Homework Cause Stress in Children” it said “Middle and high schools continue the tough academic pressures. Larger class sizes, shorter break times and strong pressures to perform well on standardized tests all place students under large amounts of stress” (Cordz 2). This quote states high schoolers have a lot of pressure on them enough to keep a good grade point average but also have stress on passing tests and then doing a bunch of homework thats suppose to hel p them with their GPA and to past test but students are so stress they just end up copying off another student or just not doing it at all and if they don’t do it because they’re so stressed they get more stressed because now they have missing assignments. Homework is forced upon students. Homework is preventing student from getting a good amount of sleep and preventing them to do activities to keep them fit, How are students suppose to do homework for 2-3 hours and study for test but also play sports, explore life, get involved, eat nutritious food, and get the amount of sleep they need all in one day?
