If they get homework they should at least be able to do it in class so they don’t have homework when they get home from school. Teachers are usually nice about giving not as much homework so the students are not slammed with homework after school. Especially if the kids play sport then they get home late and go to bed around midnight. I don’t think teachers like giving homework because the teachers know what it’s like to have homework or do their homework very late at night. In my opinion i think that homework is a way kids are stuck at home for an hour and can’t do anything if they have too much homework.I think that homework can be good and bad because it helps the kids with their tests and also to know what to do and it can be bad because it takes freedom away and causes stress and also can keep students up

First of all, homework causes stress on students. We may as well just spend all day at school if we are having school at home anyways. Students should go to school, work on “school” work, then come home and not do “school” work at home. This would increase the productivity and attitudes of students. I, for one, would be in a much better mood concerning school if I knew that I didn’t have to look forward to coming home to more school work.…

It should neither be fully abolished or given to students in preposterous amounts. Although some say that homework is something that does no good for students, it actually has many benefits to students such as it has students receive better grades, learn what responsibility is, and figuring out how to balance homework with free time. All of these skills are not something that will help them in school, but in the rest of their lives. With that in mind, homework is not something that should be banned or fully embraced. Homework should be something that is balanced and only used as a tool to help students gain proficiency in a subject, not as busy work.…

Most people would agree that more homework would be a less than desirable, but if we started schools later students would pay more attention and if students payed more attention in class then maybe less homework would be assigned because they would have already covered it in class. Teachers can not exactly give us all the material in their allotted time if the students are being distracting and loud; Therefore they have to make up for the time with…

I get home from school expecting to relax, but I have a pile of homework in my backpack waiting to be done. I believe schools and teachers shouldn’t assign homework. Homework isn’t totally necessary because we already spend 7 hours learning in school, it can take time from child development, and lead to a negative influence on learning experiences. I am strongly against homework that is required for every class and school boards should be too.…

Homework keeps students from doing after school activities, because we don't have time for both. In her article Sara Bennett states “Study after study shows that homework is not much more beneficial in middle school either. Even in high school, where there can be benefits, they start to decline when kids overload on homework” (3). This quote shows that having too much homework shows less benefits for the teens which is giving us less time to do other things. Teens need more time after school to be able to participate with other activities and we can't do that if we have a ton of homework to do.…

There is no clear evidence supporting the claim that homework improves students’ grades or their understanding of the lesson. For most children, mandatory homework assignments push their workweek far beyond the school day and deep into what any other laborers would consider overtime. Even without sports or music or other school-sponsored extracurricular, the daily homework slog keeps many students on the clock as long as lawyers, teachers, medical residents, truck drivers and other overworked adults.
