Too much homework is ruining students. These days students have up to 4 hours each and every night. This is a problem that is increasing by the day. It is affecting how much students do with there day, less family time, curricular activities, and sports. This is why students should have less homework. At home when we do our homework, they might not get what they are doing. Also if they ask for help, who are they supposed to ask? Once I was doing my math homework and didn't get what I was doing, so I asked my parents. They had absolutely no clue how to do it. This is another downfall of homework, who do we go to for help at home? Another example why too much homework is not good is that they don't have enough time for everything,

I, for one, would be in a much better mood concerning school if I knew that I didn’t have to look forward to coming home to more school work.…

In the early years of a child’s life, the brain is capable of absorbing information exceeding the ability that of adults. Because of this, many schools determine that they will give these developing young minds homework, hoping that the children will retain the skills they are being taught. Although this philosophy does seem logical, giving homework to children can lead to a myriad of problems. Such problems include lack of physical activity, lack of bonding with their parents, and increased stress levels. Children such as myself should not have any homework to do because we could possibly have more things to do after school. We might have basketball practice or we might have an event to attend to and that could take about 2-4 hours. If a teacher assigns you homework you have to be responsible for keeping up with it. Some people are not very responsible and they could easily lose or someone can steal it and claim it for their own. Homework can also cause stress and people at a young age should not be stressed.…

There are various effective arguments I would make to support students having homework by their teachers. The first argument I would make is that homework helps students to better retain the lessons they’ve learned during the school day. Students need a lot of exercises to do to retain what they learn everyday in school. Since class time isn’t enough to provide a lot of exercises on one subject, homework is the best way to exercise what’s been learned in class. If no homework is given to students on a subject that’s been discussed in class, it’s more likely for them to forget the subject the next day.…
