The Rosetta Stone is important to the Ancient Egyptians because, it is the anwser to Hierogliphic writing. If you closely compare other languages spoken at Egypt to the Hieroglphics you would understand what it says.
Also acording to Ancient Egypt.com, it states that in 1822, after inspecting the Rosetta Stone for a long time, a man named Jean Francois Champollion finally understood how to read and write in Hierogliphics. Champollion was able to read Coptic and Greek.( Coptic is the present language that is spoken in Egypt.) He figured out how to read the seven Demotic signs in Coptic. Those 7 signs are basically the alphabet in Coptic. By looking at the signs he was able to understand what they stood for. Then he began to trace the Demotic
