a. Is the policy has help reduced NYC’s murder rate? Yes and no. Yes, because by placing the policy people with bad intention tend to commit less crime. With the policy in place, criminal tend to not carries illegal or deadly weapon on them because they are afraid of being caught. Therefore, there are less chance for criminal to commit a crime without weapon on them. Cause without weapon, victim have more chance of surviving the incident. I think that is why the policy has help reduced the murder rate in New York City, because criminal are afraid of caught and sentence to prison. Murder rate has gone down in NY not because of the policy but also because people now a day are more educated. With both the policy and the education of society
