Why Is The Death Penalty A Good Choice Or A Bad Choice?

Why do you think the death penalty is a good choice or a bad choice? Critics would say that the penalty is effective and others will say it doesn’t work, and some have a hard time deciding. Others will say that it needs to used more to punish people for what they’ve done to others. The death penalty should be used in more often because it punishes people for what they did and it can decrease crime rates in some cases. Death penalty needs to be used a lot more because people need to be punished for what they do, and it doesn’t slow amount of crime. For example, As years go by the amount of people that have favored the death penalty have gone down, more people are starting to be against it.The more executions there are, the lower the murder rate is, and the rate is even lower when executions are carried out quickly after sentencing.("Attitudes toward the Death Penalty among US Adults, 2015."). The state of Texas executes dozens of death row inmates each year. And every year many liberals question the morality of executing convicted felons for capital offenses. They argue that the death penalty is unjust and unconstitutional because it is a cruel and unusual punishment. These arguments and the points they raise are factually baseless.more kindness and dignity than their victims receive.(Scaljon, Michael.) The death penalty in the U.S. is an enormously expensive and wasteful program with no clear benefits. All of the studies on the cost of capital punishment conclude it is much more expensive than a system with life sentences as the maximum penalty.
