The Boston Marathon bombing is a recent attack that was the plot against the United States since 9/11 attacks. Two explosions went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The terrorist attack stunned the nation killing three people, injuring and harmed hundreds. This attack was not recognized as a potential threat by law enforcement and intelligence. Americans did not consider the use of an improvised explosive device on American territory. The bombing in Boston will not be the last attempt to attack the U.S. It is time for the United States to be more alert and efficient when it comes to terrorism and not just wait for a attacks to happen.
There are multiple cases of extremist plotting to attack military facilities and centers in the United States. This puts the nation on high alert because these shootings can be a potential domestic or international terrorist attack. The controversial over Iran being able to have nuclear weapons is a great deal. This will allow Iran to have access to advanced technology to build weapons that may possible be used against the Unites States. Iran has a long history of supporting violence and terrorism within the Middle East and around the world. The United States need to rebuild a relationship in the Middle East. The U.S. should make it mandatory that Iran has no use of building a nuclear weapon due to the threats in the past. Recently four U.S. Marines were killed in Chattanooga, Tennessee when a gunman shot at two separate military facilities. The military recruiting center and a Navy training reserve center was targeted by a shooter Mohammad Abdulazeez. He was killed shortly after the shootings. Military facilities and personnel are a common target to conduct violence within the United States. Almost 119 Americans that are suspects of plotting an attack inside the United States since 9/11 were alleged to have plotted to attack U.S. military targets. The 9/11 attack was a crucial event that impacted many throughout the United States. This attack resulted in higher alerts towards terrorism and making sure plans and procedures are in place for all emergencies. Our economy has been through a lot of hardships throughout the years and is still enduring hard times, but having resilience is what keep the economy fighting. Past disasters that haven taken place due to natural disasters, oil spills, chemicals spills and etc. These disasters have forced emergency management plans to improve and prepare for future events. Lacking enough resources is something that a city or state may face when a disaster strikes. This leads to needing assistance from the government to assure necessities that may be needed. If a disaster has occurred once in an area, monitoring the situation every so often may keep the disaster from possibly reoccurring.
