On average, “96% of men play football from ages 15 and up”(NA). This statistic shows that football is very popular among men, but can you imagine how many injuries come from practicing too much? There are ways to make sports safer for all of those people who want to participate in sports. Understanding the reasons why people want to participate in sports, studying facts on how sports can be made safer, and learning how much time people spend practicing a night can make sports safer, fun, and easier to manage along with schoolwork. Parents could sign up their child/children in a certain sport because “ Both male and female athletes were more likely to eat fruit and vegetables, and less likely to engage in smoking and illicit drug-taking”(Merkel). If the child/teen is motivated and has self-esteem then they will most likely not give into drugs, and they will probably stay on a healthy diet.
