Why Is Speeding Important Essay

Today more and more citizens are becoming careless when it comes to the law. They think it is some silly rule that they do not need to follow. Frank Trippett in this excerpt from “A Red Light for Scofflaws” argues that Americans are used to thinking that the law-and-order is threatened mainly by violent crime and if little laws like littering speeding or noise pollution are a big deal or not. He explains how people seem to think you are a fool if you obey the rules. All laws are laws and they are made for a reason. Safety is a big factor in reasoning for little laws like running a stop sign or speeding. Running a stop sign or speeding is actually very dangerous. Stop signs are put on the street so that people do not hit cars coming from the left or right of them. The speed limits are made so that people are not going too fast around schools or residential areas where pedestrians are so they do not get hurt. There is hundreds of people that die everyday from speeding, being on their phone or even running a stop sign, these laws are here to save a life and keep people safe. Littering is another one that people think is not a necessary law, or a big deal. But it is, it is a huge deal. Really they are not thinking about all the children and newborn babies people have that they are trying to put to bed but when people are out past curfew bumping their music or screaming the babies and children can not sleep and then they have to deal with a tantrum. Parents have work in the morning and they need the sleep so that they can go make money and provide for their family. Maybe once people get a job and have children they will understand but this is in no way a silly law. People deserve some peace and
