Why Is Soccer Important To Me

Even though I’m a follower, I still have activities I like by myself. If you take away soccer, than you are taking away something that I actually like. In terms of basketball, I play with people I follow, but I do this, because they encourage me to be the best baller I can be. You shouldn’t take soccer or basketball, because you don’t want to take things I like for my self that help me find things to do when I get in trouble.

Soccer is something I love to play. I don’t play for anyone else other than me. I have shown improvement in soccer, to show that I really want to be the best soccer player out there. Soccer is full of running, but I don’t let that affect me. This decision has led to many positive effects. First of all, I made friends outside of high school. Second of all, it helps me clear my mind when I get upset. At the end of the day, If you take away soccer, then you take away a special part of me.

Basketball is something I participate in because of peers and other associates. I see how good they are at basketball, and then I start thinking I can be better than them. Even Though I think this way, it still helps me in a weird way. When I see them score a basket, I try to figure out way to do it better. Eventually, I’ll be either better or same skilled as those people. When I am, I can like the sport more for myself than anyone else. In a way, that makes it seem like I’m following them. I can tell you that I wouldn’t have started playing, if those people didn’t

I also tend to be a teamwork player because soccer is an activity that emphasizes teamwork.…

Monday, August 22nd, 2016, approximately 10 o’clock PM. I arrived home after a typical summer night out with my friends at the local Applebee’s, however I was greeted at the door by my already enraged father. Before I had time to take my shoes off of my feet, my father was already ridiculing me, spouting phrases such as “you’re so irresponsible” and “you cannot be trusted with anything.” Now of course there was some foul language included sporadically in those remarks, but overall I was shocked at why I was being attacked seemingly unprovoked. My father then decided to inform me that tomorrow at 8 AM I had to report to the soccer fields at Holy Ghost Preparatory School for soccer tryouts.…

I started playing soccer for my school in first grade and kept on playing till third grade when I stopped because I found a sport I felt was much more appealing to me in the way the game was played and the teamwork needed to play. It could also be fact that my dad told me I needed to play, which was fine because I wanted to play anyway. This sport is baseball, an All-American sport played by athletes who are not afraid to put themselves in front of a 100 mile per hour ball. Baseball takes a great amount of one specific skill, hand-eye coordination. This skill is very hard to master, but is wonderful once you have a good grip on it.…

The sport in its entirety is what I came to love. So, I’m still following a soccer-centric path as much as possible. Along the way, I guess my passion wasn’t seen by only me, later giving me the opportunity to become my school’s varsity team’s videographer, something I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude for. It’s gotten to the point where bringing up the sport to friends is just verbal diarrhea for them. Yet, they’ve never gotten fed up, and that’s just it.…

The activity that I desired to participate in was basketball. Basketball is a very energizing sport that can be played both indoors and outdoors against two opposing teams (Podmenik, Leskošek & Erčulj, 2012). The purpose of this sport is to shoot the basketball into the opposing team’s net without letting the other team “steal” the ball (Podmenik et al., 2012). Basketball is a sport that not only increases ones physical fitness, but also demonstrates how to be a team player and build a positive intellectual winning mindset (Podmenik et al., 2012). I played a one-hour game of basketball with my best friends, Pooja and Sakshi.…
