According to New World Encyclopedia over 240 million people play soccer in more than 200 countries. Soccer is considered the most popular sport in the world. More and more people are learning about the history of soccer, how to coach it, the players involved, and the types of plays in soccer.
Soccer, which is called football in many countries, has been played for many years. Dating back to the second and third centuries in China was the first form of the game (“Soccer”). Soccer has been played in many different forms depending on the location and time period. Soccer which was a violent sport was changed to a organized team competition during the sixteenth century. According to the rules of soccer there is only two types of players. These two players is the goalie and everyone else. There are many different positi on that are needed for a soccer team during a Lyle 5 game. These positions are divided into three categories: forwards, midfielders, and defenders. During the game, each position has a different role. A forward or which sometimes called a striker or an attacker is divided up into two categories. These two are a center forward and a wing forward. A center forward is in the middle of the left and right wing forward. The center forward should be fast and aggressive and should be able to dribble the ball well. They are needed to be able to shoot the ball well and needed to be able to move well without the ball to get open for a pass. When the center forwards can get open, it helps the wing forwards with the job. The wing forwards jobs are to dribble the ball down the sideline and cross or pass the ball to the middle of the field to the center forward.
