Why Is Poverty Point Important

Poverty Point, Louisiana is a historical place that has brought many mysteries and uncovered cultures in that place. There are many historical findings that have made Poverty Point known.
Mounds were big hills used by many early American groups, for organized “cemeteries”. Interestingly, the people at poverty point did make these mounds, but they were not made for this use. The mounds were there to have houses and homes on them, and to show that you had a wealthy status. The mounds were all constructed into lined semicircles. To make these mounds, the people relocated dirt, using baskets one at a time.
Rocks were not as nice at Poverty Point, so they had to trade to accumulate the rocks that they wanted and needed. It is believe that these
