Why Is Napping Allowed In The Work Place

Decent Essays
In both articles the there is good points about the subject of napping, should there be napping allowed in the work place? Does taking daily naps during the day really help?
In my own opinion, even though some researchers have performed, studies that show a 34% performance improvement I don't think that being allowed to take naps in the work place is a good idea. I believe that allowing naps in the work place would put work tasks behind, that is time consuming and that it will make an employee feel that a late night is okay because they can just take a nap when they get to work.
Also, as the second author goes on to say that a nap during the day of anytime is not a good idea, I beg to differ. I sometimes feel much better, after a long work

That individual must sleep an extra two hours of sleep the next night because he needs to pay off his sleep debt and in order to have full alertness the next day. Many people consider sleep to be “wasted time” because they rather spend that precious time doing something else more valuable towards one’s busy life than going to sleep(Martin 464). One of the causes of people sleeping less is people’s work life; working normal to long hours and at the same time wasting one’s sleep time to do something that he seems to be necessary, but in reality, it is not really necessary to do a task over sleep. The majority of human history, humans were woken up by dawn and driven to sleep by dusk, but in the last century, people were being woken up by “clocks, electrical lighting and work schedule” which has impacted people to increase one’s sleep debt; this has…

Another common argument against nap times in schools is that if kids do this then they won’t be fully awake for classes after that time and not get enough education, but actually if nap time is approved in almost all children school’s can get better grades and better bodies. That may be true that kids can get less done or not get any done; however, they will get even more done because the brain will be more ready to do more work than it was ready for to start with. Naps can help a lot of children in schools to pay more attention in classes and get more work done. Naps can help in a significant way for children, teens and even teachers. This could help teachers by letting them have a little bit of time to do what they need to do so they don’t have to work as hard through the day as they normally do.…
