In times when black citizens were denied their basic civil rights, he turned a Messiah for the black victims. He joined humanitarian community to end atrocities and started to participate in many movements for civil rights. He said ,"Hating people because of their color is wrong and it doesn’t matter which color the hating, it’s just PLAIN WRONG!” A year after, he was called out by the US Military for Vietnam war, but he stayed true to his morals that do not allow him to kill innocent civilians refused it. Consequently he was stripped of the heavyweight crown, passport , boxing license and was banned under draft evasion charges and was eventually arrested. He was up against any acts of violence. He made an eye opening statement,” Wars of nations are to change the maps, but wars of poverty fought to map change!!!”. His stance advocating racial justice gained sympathy then and the US Govt had to overturn the decision to imprision him. He gave an inspiring message to us , "Don’t count the days ,make the days count!” in the same way he made his hard work pay off by winning the fight of the century in his comeback game. Later in 1966 summer Olympics he lit the Olympic torch
