Costs and Benefits of Conduction Business Ethically Various business industries around the world are faced with ethical dilemmas. There are many companies that do not lose sight of morally appropriate decisions. However, other organizations continue to make skewed choices in regards to their business decisions. There are many companies who choose profitability over ethical and legal business practices. McDonald's, one of the largest international fast-food chains, has faced great scrutiny over the years on their unethical business practices. Although they strive to commit to ethical, dependable and truthful practices, topics regarding their exploitation of children for marketing purposes, and the use of unethical ingredients are continuously discussed in the media (McDonald's, n.d.). Although business ethics are subjective, as everyone's concept of moral decisions differ, it is important for all companies to understand that their unethical actions impact society and the environment. Those who blatantly disregard the health and wellbeing of their customers, and their customers children, are acting in an unethical manner.
