Martin Luther King Jr. is a name that everyone knows and learned about at such a young age. This man made a great change to the world. Martin Luther King Jr. was born in the year 1929. Martin grew up in Atlanta, Georgia; which was the time segregation was going on. When Martin got older he decided to be a pastor just like his father was. He had strong beliefs against slavery therefore he was also a civil rights activist. Martin was involved with the Rosa Parks boycott. He was the leader of many boycotts, protests, and the Civil Rights Movement. Sadly, Martin died in 1968 because he was assassinated by James Earl Ray. Martin’s “I Have A Dream” speech is still very famous to this day. He gave this speech in 1963 in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
