One reason that Martin Luther King Jr., was a better leader was because his education and family background and beliefs. Martin Luther King Jr. was raised by a loving family that raised them to have strong faith in God and to have value in hard work. Martin Luther King Jr., and Malcolm X had completely different strategies. Malcolm X went more towards violence and Martin Luther King Jr., went towards non-violence. Each reaction get’s a different response. Martin Luther King Jr., had played it smart because by being non-violent people will give more of a reaction and be sort of thrown off by the African American’s actions. Martin Luther King Jr., was not only trying to fight for their rights, but also protect them from any harm. Martin Luther King Jr. stated that “ Not a single person has been killed in a non-violent demonstration” (Dr. King). This is showing that Martin Luther King Jr., went towards non-violence because it was a safer approach that would still get people’s attention.
