Lisa Grossman’s article “SpaceX Mars Plan is Clever but Unconvincing” presents a stronger argument than Eric Betz’s article “The Falcon has Landed. Now SpaceX is Eyeing Mars” because overall, Grossman’s has more authority, is more logical, and uses better examples. 2 One of the main reasons Lisa Grossman’s argument is stronger is because overall, she has more credibility than Eric Betz. In preparation for the destruction of Earth, humans are to be transported to continue life on the planet Mars. Scientists have been studying this planet for decades. Research and experimentation have shown Mars is capable of supporting human life forms and other organisms. However, the time and money necessary to accomplish such a feat would be astronomical. Matt Williams, the Guide to Space Curator for Universe Today, expresses his opinions on this phenomena in his article, “How Can We Live on Mars?”…

It will be very difficult to colonized the red planet, because of its weather conditions. Mars have a very thin atmosphere that make it almost unsuitable to support human life (Sharp). The red planet has a much lighter gravity system than the Earth and its Oxygen level are very low (Sharp). Therefore, it would be almost impossible for humans to survive on Mars without using a lot of technology to provide them with the needed resources. One of the major problem on Mars is the atmosphere’s composition, because it is composed of 95.2 percent of Carbon Dioxide, while on Earth there is only 0.4 percent of Carbon Dioxide (Sharp). Mars is a very small planet, half the diameter of the Earth, this will reduce the amount space needed for each human and…

Before all else, when discussing an item’s value as revealed by the measures taken to preserve such an item, a description of the methods of preservation seems necessary. The first part of this discussion belongs to Mark Watney, the apparently dead man left with only his mind and the supplies of an abandoned space expedition to endure the unfavorable living conditions on Mars. Both Watney and his peers went to great lengths to bring the isolated astronaut back to Earth. For watney, the majority of his duties concerned his livelihood on Mars. To survive, Watney initially increased his food supply “by farming in [his] own (expletive)”…

Until now, we have or had 12 spacecraft orbit and 12 spacecraft land on Mars, but half of our mission failed on the journey to Mars (data from NASA).
