Leonardo’s studies in science and technology were remarkably advanced for his time, and are often forgotten, being over-shadowed by his more famous works such as the Mona Lisa or The Last Supper. Although his paintings are stunning, his inventions and experiments are what I would like to learn more about.
Leonardo da Vinci was a Renaissance Man, having many talents and jobs such as painter, engineer, mathematician, scientist, and inventor. He helped design cathedrals and statues for the government. He created many flying machines based off of bird and bat wings, and his machines included rotors. Some of his designs have been tested today and have worked.
Leonardo entertained the idea of man flying hundreds of years prior to the Wright Brothers. He built a very simple airplane in the 16th century. This was an amazing invention for a man of his time, and I want to know how he came up with it all. Flight seemed impossible in the 16th century, yet Leonardo didn't let that stop him. His observations lead him to create an amazing thing that could have worked if the rest of technology was caught up with the imagination in his mind.
Da Vinci’s notebooks contain very useful information. He invented pulley systems, expanded the knowledge of hydraulic engineering and light, and wrote notes on his examinations in anatomy. He was constantly learning new things, which helped him invent so much. Leonardo wanted to learn more so he could invent
