During this time, you had to take tests called proficiency tests and by the time you graduate you must pass all the subjects required. In the eighth grade you are given the opportunity to take these tests before you go onto your freshmen year, my eighth-grade year the only test I passed was the writing test. My freshman year I passed history and science still leaving me to pass the math and reading after taking them three times each. My junior year I ended up passing the reading test. Graduating year, I still had not passed the math proficiency test. We had a meeting my senior year at Buckeye Hills Career Center at the beginning of the year, that agreed I would be able to use a calculator to see if that would help me and some tutoring to help me prepare for the test. That year I had taken the test three times and still could not pass it. For me to be able to graduate I had to go through the process of being exempt from the math proficiency test to be able to graduate and receive my high school
