The first leader that I will write about is Russian dictator Joseph Stalin. Russian leader Joseph Stalin was in power of Russia from 1929 to 1953. Durring this time he was able to create a communist country that drasticlly trasformed into a peasent country into a industrlized military superpower that could rival the United States. Joseph was well know for being a cruel and unjust leader who used his power as the leader of Russia for personal gain. Joseph also began to kill many civilians and innocents simply beacause he thought that they were enemies of the state and were atempting to rebel against him. The killings of innocents and others was justified in the eyes of Joseph Stalin and others in power becasue of a large sense of paranoia that made them feel as though …show more content…
Somtimes I wonder if there is I will ever be able to leaver here, or will I just die like everybody else and if I do how will it be? Will it be a quick and painless bullet to the head?" "Or will I freeze with this pain in my stomach suffering as I die?". I do not think that the violence and killings were justified. My reasoning behind this is because there were ways that Joseph could have help his country become stronger and fight back any fear of some other country from taking over. I belieave that he got away with these horendous crimes because his was able to manipulate the media and the rest of the country into thinking that these actions were justtifed. The last leader that I will write about is the Chinese dictator Mao Zedong. Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong was in power of China from 1949 to 1959. Mao Zedong was a chinese communist leader and one of the founding memebers of the People's Republic of China. Mao is better known for starting the Cultural Revolution a attempt to make the youth of China to get rid of old Chinese customs and to preseve the communist ideology in

and other groups were hardly restrained by Hitler himself let alone the public eye. Evidence of this would be the increase of inmates in concentration camps, going from just 4761 in November 1936 to about 54,000 in November 1938. This supports the argument that coercion had become a central aspect of everyday German life, which was not only limited to the unwanted “Untermensch” which obviously was justified by rhetoric produced by Hitler and the terror organisation as being essential to the safety of the people, but instead were irrational actions taken in attempts of achieving Hitler’s wishes. Equally, Hitler had stated in Mein Kampf that “Certainly in days to come, the Jews will raise a tremendous cry throughout their newspapers, once the…

A cause of conflict in world history is power control. Dictatorships and other totalitarian governments will have a single leader that will hold most or all the power. Giving all that power to one ruler will obviously cause major conflicts like war, power abuse, and problems like starvation and unright judicial punishment to people of said country. There has been totalitarian government since there has been governments, surprisingly enough, even today there are dictatorships in places like North Korea and Syria. One of the more famous examples of a dictator abusing his power is Adolf Hitler when he began to exterminate the jewish population for purely racist reasons.…

Governments justify the oppression of their people by telling citizens their action is for the better of the citizens and the nation and shielding them from the truth of their actions. In 1931, totalitarian leader of the Soviet Union, Josef Stalin gave the speech, “The Need for Progress”, to inspire Russian nationalism, and warn the people that if they did not industrialize Russia would be taken over. He strikes motivation for nationalism and industrialization by asking his people, “But now that we have overthrown capitalism and power is in our hands, in the hands of the people, we have a fatherland, and we will uphold its independence. Do you want our socialist fatherland to be beaten and to lose its independence?” (Stalin).…

Ultimately, despite the criticisms of Stalin’s harsh rule he seemed to build Russia in the most effective way and so although he was a cold leader he still managed to modernise Russia so it could compete with the other modernised countries. The other leaders still impacted the political aspects of Russia but it seems like Stalin was the most successful in keeping law and order within the government and promoting himself to earn (or even force) loyalty from Russian society. To conclude, the most influential figure in the modernisation of Russia 1855-1964 proved to be Stalin. Undeniably, all the leaders had some form on an impact in changing Russia to a new direction however Stalin proved to be the most successful and most efficient leader in…

Another example of current a leader is North Korea's leader, Kim Jung Un. Unlike any other leaders out there, Kim Jung Un practices communism as his political ideology. As claimed by the Forbes, “North Korea's enigmatic "Supreme Leader" has absolute control over the lives of the 25 million people who live in his reclusive, rusting state; in practice, it's not clear how much power he shares with military leaders. What's certain is that Kim is fond of the same saber-rattling that's come to define the "hermit kingdom.” It…
