As a radiographer, it is very important to practice cultural awareness in the workplace. Being culturally aware allows us to develop professional relationships with those who have other beliefs than we do. Those we develop professional relationships with are coworkers, other members of the healthcare facility, and our patients’. Our professional relationships with others is key for success in the workplace Being culturally aware is important because it allows us as healthcare professionals to look at all aspects of a person’s culture without generalizing it because we accept that their culture is different than ours.
