Kids are assigned way too much homework on top of all of their afterschool activities, such as football, dance, horseback riding, baseball, softball, or any other sport or activity. So, do kids have enough time to just be kids? The answer is no. “To have them work six hours a day at school and then go home and work for hours at night does not seem right. Many students dread going back to school because of the huge amount of homework we have to do. “One homework fact that educators agree upon is that the young child today is doing more homework than ever before.” (Marian Wilde) there is supposed to be a 10 minute rule for each grade (so 80 mins of hw for 8th grade) which is way more homework than we should have.
