Why Is It Important To Copy Others

Improved Essays
Is it important to be oneself or to copy those who have been successful? It more important to be yourself because that's the way god made us if he wanted us to be the same he would of made us all look the same in every aspect, we would be like robots. It's better to be yourself than to copy others because one it's called being original. Some people say is better to copy other people because of what they achieved ,but what they don't know is that it doesn't work the same way for everyone else. For example if a person wants to be a singer and they look up to that artist and want to follow in their footsteps from the way they became famous to the way they have become over the years, but the thing is you can’t copy them because when …show more content…
You can't dedicate the devotion th had at that time because you are not in their same situation nor you are them. More people are trying to be the same because of how society demands us to all look the same way. One of the quotes i’ve heard goes like “ the biggest challenge of life is to be yourself in a world that is trying to make you like everyone else”. The real question here is do I want to be original or something that has been done multiple of times already just to please others in this world. It's better to be yourself you get to express how you feel and are like, not what others want you to express yourself with lies. If you copy somebody it's like you don't have a brain of your own to think and make decisions by itself. You are getting force to be someone you are not. People are afraid of getting judge that's why they hide by pretending to be someone else. You can't be afraid of being you, it's like being afraid of your own shadow. It is also saying that you don't like yourself and you rather pretend to be something

In the book Anthem being like everyone else is what they want you to be. They don’t want you to be your own person and they don’t want you to make your own decisions. They want to pick everything for you, and to be honest, who could ever live like that? Being like everyone else would be boring and nobody would be unique. The first consequence of not being an individual is not being able to pick what career field you go into.…

Barbara Walraff comments, “copyeditors spend most of their day, every day polishing, so they can do this work more efficiently than just about anybody else, and they can always do it in a way that is appropriate to the publication. I think the most important thing copyeditors do is straighten out tangled, confusing, ungrammatical sentences.” It takes a special type of person to love punctuation and grammar and spelling, and not everyone is cut out for the job. Copyediting simply is not a temp job. Long hours, low pay, and high stress are not adjectives many picture when fantasizing about their dream professions.…

This argument is inaccurate because a person who acts as their own person can be considered innovative. Once people see the actions and the new perspective of that person, it could start showing people a new route and could even potentially change the customs of the people. “ ‘Well, it’d be sort of like shootin’ a mockingbird wouldn’t it?’ Atticus put his face in my hair and rubbed it. When he got up and walked across the porch into the shadows, his youthful step had returned.…

However, the actor must always remain true to himself (Stanislavski 85-86). Stanislavski also mentioned that the actor will always remain true to himself in Building a Character. By repeating this technique in his third book, he creates emphasis on this and wants actors to know that they should never pretend to be the character, but rather they should bring the character to life by being true to who they are. I agree with this because when actors pretend to be the characters, they often end up doing poor jobs because the duplicate can never be as good as the original. For the performance to be good, it has to be…

The issue of cloning has always been around in our everyday lives. Cloning was common in movies such as Jurassic Park and The Lost World, where cloning seemed to be an idea of fantasy and not reality. The idea that scientist could just take a little DNA from a dead mosquito and turn it into something that could tower over a skyscraper was very intriguing to most people. On the other hand, there were movies such as Judd Dredd and Alien Resurrection, in which cloning was necessary in order to save lives.…

Being myself is effortless over attempting to mimic others’ behaviors. When I am true to myself, I am not required to stress so much about anyone contradicting or having negative opinions to say when I do not choose the same decisions as them. The pressure to look like everyone around and conform to society decreases as I learn my own self worth. Showing my own character by doing what I trust is correct, dressing the way I am comfortable in and by not letting people's opinion influence my decisions , has permitted me to grow as a person. For example, I participate in activities that I enjoy and take classes that I find accommodating, to allow myself to stay true to myself.…

Why is originality such a commodity? Paul Rand once said, “ Don’t try to be original, just try to be good.” However, designers these days as compared to the past are more preoccupied with the notion of originality, where they value the idea of being new and different from the rest. Having their work complimented as being original has become something that most designers would like to achieve. It feels as though being complimented with being original gives some sort of assurance and affirmation that they are good.…
