Huckleberry Finn is a ten year old boy because he is only ten years old he is undereducated and still forming his opinions on different things such as racism. This makes Huck a very unusual narrator for a book. When he Narrates the book the book the fact that Huck is still forming opinions becomes very obvious such as his relationship with Jim (a young black slave). Huck helps Jim Try to escape from slavery. On the way down the Mississippi Huck treats Jim sorta like a friend but also like a slave playing jokes on them. after one of these jokes Jim becomes very sad that Huck lied to hims. This is the turning point in Huck’s and Jim’s relationship and Huck starts treating Jim with more respect. Before this happens Huck talks to Jim with more a disrespectful tone such as when Huck said “I told him I had an old slick counterfeit quarter that warn't no good because the brass showed through the silver a little, and it wouldn't pass nohow, even if the brass didn't show, because it was so slick it felt greasy, and so that would tell on it every time. (I reckoned I wouldn't say nothing about the dollar I got from the judge.)” This shows that Huck has no respect for the slave because he gives and fake coin and does even mention the dollar that
