In the real world, everyone is affected by music that they listen to or create themselves, but it is truly underestimated. People have the distinguished ability to express their individuality through the varying types of music in the world and how they react to it. Being a musician can challenge someone’s mental and physical abilities and, if they accept the challenge, can make them more intelligent and capable members of society. Music can also cater to one’s differing emotions and help them to understand their feelings and coping methods.…

‘Righteous Girl,’ Laura Jean Anderson took time to talk to me about music, honesty, and the balance of the two. Throughout the interviews I’ve conducted, there was something about Anderson that I felt in the conversation that made our talk seamlessly natural. A very sweet tone welcomed me on the other end of the line- excited and eager to answer any questions. There wasn’t a façade and I didn’t end up with cookie cutter answers. Originally hailing from Olympia, Washington, Laura Jean Anderson still holds on to the element that exists in the northwest, based around grunge, garage rock, the after effect of what Nirvana left behind, intertwined with honesty, and American folk.…

Other than sleeping, have you ever found yourself completely silent, both physically and verbally? Well, it happened to me on a summer day back in 2014, crammed into the backseat of a Fiat northeast of Prague. Since I couldn’t communicate with the passengers and had just left a life-changing 10-days in Tuscany, I allowed myself to reflect on my life in greater detail. During this ninety minute, fast-paced ride, I concluded my life is an ironic journey, shaped positively by polar opposites.…
