In the book the “The Scarlet letter” written by Nathaniel Hawthorne Hester Prynne is the best citizen of the Boston society of the 1600s. Even though she had committed adultery and was being yelled, and accused she didn’t seem to care and didn’t say anything that she will regret. Second she helped out her daughter when she was a baby by letting Chillingworth give her some medicine so she will stop crying. Hester could have not allowed him to give Pearl the Medicine and she could have died. She dressed her daughter with gold and red colors dresses which I believe the other kids didn’t wear or was included in there wardrobe. These are some of the reasons why I think that Hester Prynne is best citizen.

First reason is she took her daughter to England so that she can have a better life there rather than where she was at. Second not really a reason why she is a good citizen, but her daughter received money because Hester and Chillingworth were married and he felt bad from the wrong he died. Third reason is that she went back to the place where she committed her crime and gave advice to other women also started a club. These are some of the reasons why I think that Hester Prynne is best
