Why Is Gun Control A Bad Issue

Decent Essays
Gun control is a very uneasy topic in our country right now, but i believe use more stricter gun laws won’t help anything.Crimes laws even have a chance to rise because people won’t be able to defend themselves from criminals. According from the article Misfires in Gun Control Debate that a study conducted in 2013 showed that the deaths from homicides is over 500,000, but gun have only killed 350,000 people which is still horrible but shows that guns have only caused some of the problems. If you take away guns then people will have no way to defend themselves against criminals and the deaths in America will just keep rising guns level out the playing field. Yes, guns do bad things but it's not all just the gun. It is mostly the person behind

Texas Law states that “a person can also shoot someone they if they reasonably believe deadly force is necessary to prevent someone else from trying to kill or seriously injure them, or there is the threat of certain crimes such as sexual assault or aggravated kidnapping” (Schwaller, 2015) This was a law set to protect what one considers valuable, whether it be his or her own families or even just to protect oneself from harms way. In 2007 there was a man who saw his neighbors’ house being broken into and saw the assailants fleeing the home. The man then proceeded to call 911 to inform them he intended to shoot the burglars should they not stop fleeing. He shot both assailants and a year later he was acquitted.…

Murica doesn’t need Gun control Gun Control is a very hot topic these days. Some people think that having more gun laws in America would lessen the number of murders in America, however I think that having more strict gun control laws would do nothing to stop criminals from getting guns or killing people. Criminals will always find a way to get weapons. To prove this, handguns in the UK have been banned since 1998 and the murders have actually rose in numbers. For this reason I think gun control laws would not stop criminals from getting guns…

After reading the two articles about gun control, my stance on the issue has been greatly influenced. Before reading the articles, I thought that guns should have stricter laws just because they were dangerous, but after reading them, I’ve realized that there are many more reasons that the US should adopt stricter gun control regulations. The leading reason why I think this is because gun regulations will likely reduce high crime rates, like they did in European countries and Australia after they enacted stricter gun laws. Not only will this lower violence and deaths, but it will also help lessen the fear that Americans have towards guns. There are ideas and elements from the article by Taya Kyle that I can agree with, but there is a lot that…

Gun Control does not prevent Gun Violence Gun control is a very controversial topic especially in today's society; whether gun control is good or bad is a very talked about subject especially when it comes to the United States. This is a very touchy subject because guns are a part of a lot of people's daily lives. People that are anti gun control believe that no one should be able to put any restrictions on guns. They believe that people should be able to buy a firearm just like a pair of boots or a tool. They also believe that if you take firearms away from the law abiding citizens that just leaves firearms in the hands of people that don't abide by the law and leaves them defenseless.…

Gun Control, it's a controversial subject and many people think that if we had gun control then many murders and mass shootings would not have happened. But that is simply not true, there has been countless times when people have prevented or stopped mass shootings either before they happened or during it because they legally carry a firearm. In the Texas mass church shooting there was one man who owned a gun legally and stopped many more people from being killed although there was a lot of deaths many were prevented by this great man. My topic is that gun control is necessary in America. Gun control has always been a controversial topic in America, and there is consensus about whether guns should be banned or not. We’ve reached the stage that gun control has become a part of the culture wars along with health care, abortion, and climate change. Some people argue that banning guns is not necessary because gun control does not directly reduce accidents, murders or suicides in society. Gun control laws do not deter crime because criminals can still kill people even without guns.…

For every reason that guns should be taken away, an even better reason to keep them follows. Taking something away does not fix the problem. Go ahead and take guns away from the people to prevent crimes, then right after sit back and watch what other ways the people discover to kill a defenseless person who could have had a weapon on them to use self-defense. I understand that there are some reasons that on the surface look like a logical explanation as to why guns should be taken away. With that being said, having a better control on guns saves the people while still satisfying them as well.…
