Intelligence is a human’s most crucial gift. Our society has many techniques for increasing our brilliance, but the most common way is through technology. Since our technical advances, more and more people have been using it as a reliable resource to receive information. Many platforms such as Google let us find relevant information instantly; Google has every answer to any question. However, what are the affects that Google is doing to our brain. It just takes a few seconds to get distracted and it happens quite often to everybody. For example, in article B it says “When we use our computer and our cell-phones all the time, we’re always distracted.”The most common way people get distracted is through the internet. The internet is filled with advertising which pops up on every website were examining. That tiny image of the advertisement can trigger your brain to distract you from what you're doing. One second you're studying for your geometry test and the next second you're looking at some shoes you want to buy, it's that easy. This is the reason why many experts believe that our attention span is decreasing. In article D, it states,“ On average, people’s attention spans have dropped over the past ten years.”Ten years ago, we had a attention span of 12 minutes, and now our attention span is 5 minutes. In my belief, this is due to the technological improvements we’ve had throughout that past decade. We didn't have the same technology back then meaning that the distractors were a much smaller and their attention span was much larger. The sad part about this whole thing is that Google is making money out of the advertisements that are displayed on the web, so we can thank them for our attention span shortage.
