Have you ever really sat there and thought about what is really being consumed into your body on a daily basis? Not many can say they can or even care to know, which is why many companies hide the truth about what’s really being used when it comes to making the product grow faster to trying to keep the insects away. In this case genetically modified organisms, also known as GMO’s s is where genetic material (DNA) has been altered in such a way that does not occur naturally. Truth is GMO’s are bad for your body in multiple ways and reasons. GMO’s can become very harmful to your health. We should know why it is harmful to our health and how we can prevent it. We are killing ourselves and our children! Although GMO’s haven’t really been researched completely, some side effects have already been seen. When the body receives a product with GMO, it doesn’t recognize it and doesn’t know what to do with it. They can become dangerous because people may be allergic but wouldn’t know because they don’t have access to knowing whether the product contains it or not. More and more children are beginning to have life threatening diseases caused by the increased GMO intake. Even though tests have only really been done to animals and the effects are bad you can only imagine how bad our results will be for humans. Knowing the true results while testing these animals that alone demonstrates why GMO’s can lead to serious health problems. Not only does it affect many bodily parts but it also effects your lifespan. A GM plant could theoretically contain lower nutritional quality that its traditional counterpart by making nutrients unavailable or indigestible to humans. think of it this way the stuff we now call organic now unfortunately is what our great grandfathers just called food; it is …show more content…
Finally, labeling should be a very important part being made in a product in the GMO industry, making sure people understand how dangerous it truly is for us. Also major companies that work with GMOs are starting to monopolize their own products to increase productivity with their own farming using biotechnology. The result of this will mean farmers will have to start buying these seeds instead. If GMO use is going to be here to stay then the government should create laws that will force these companies to have labels, not protect them, and force that are creating and using these products. With the amount of known effects Genetically Modified Organisms Should not be allowed in our foods today. Labeling should be a major part of using this product and the proper initiative should be taken by the government for our countries safety better yet ban this item from being used. Choosing what foods are being put in a child’s mouth or your own, should be a first priority. This needs to be addressed before time passes and it is too late, as these illnesses start to occur. People may think just because the producer states it’s healthy, it is supposed to be healthy, therefore it must be all right to eat. This concept is very misunderstood because one may think corn is a healthy starch, but in reality if it comes across pesticides and is made with a GMO then how healthy is it in reality. Think
