Why Is Euthanasia Morally Wrong

Decent Essays
Killing is a crime in each, and every continent, country, state, city, small town, and neighborhood in this world,
Suicide is a symbol of dishonor, and failure in various countries.
So... Why in the name of everything that is sacred in this world should euthanasia be legal, or be considered morally/politically correct?!

This practice has been rotten, and disgraceful, even before it was legalized in few countries. The best example of the corrupt, and atrocious nature of this "humanize death" happened years ago in the United Kingdom. The wielder of the "bloody euthanasia knife" is Dr. Harold Shipman, by practicing euthanasia to patients that were barely ill, and had really high possibilities of coming back from the sickness. Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) is the voluntary termination of one’s own life by administration of a lethal substance with the direct or indirect help of a physician. Physician Assisted Suicide has its proponents and opponents. Among the opponents are physicians who believe it violates the fundamental principles of medicine. They believe doctors should not aid with suicides because to do so is incompatible with the doctor’s role as a healer.…

One of the most widely debated ethical issues throughout the country is the right to die with the assistance of physicians. Out of the fifty states in the United States, only five states have legalized physician-assisted suicide. There are specific requirements that allow an individual to possess this right. The question still stands as to whether or not the right to die is morally right or morally wrong. Oregon, Vermont, California, and Washington are four out of the five states that have mandated state laws regarding physician-assisted suicide.…

Euthanasia, also known as doctor assisted suicide, and whether or not if it should be legalized is a very controversial. Euthanasia essentially is permission for doctors to end the lives of terminally ill people to end that pain. It being a very debatable topic some may argue that if there is no positive signs in sight then rather the patient suffer; end it. On the other hand is is arguable that life is valuable so live it through completely, and doctors being given the option of ending live devalues life. Personally, I believe under the right circumstances euthanasia is acceptable, especially if the victim of the suffering is asking to put an end to it as well.…

Assisted suicide or the right to die is an extremely controversial topic that has been talked about for decades. Assisted suicide is for terminally ill patients that know they will never win their battle and want to pick when and how they die, which is often used before their disease becomes intolerable. Over the last couple years this controversy has had a lot more media coverage because of people working to give it the attention that it needs. In the United States more people have been on the side of passing laws so that people who do assist do not get charged for the crime. One major story that was in the news that seemed to bring back more coverage of this topic was a young woman having to move to a different state just to have an assisted…

The infamous Doctor Jack Kevorkian once said, “The patient decides when it’s best to go.” (Foley). Dr. Kevorkian is memorable for his stance and his illegal assistance of suicide with more than 130 terminally ill persons (McLellan). I find that that this quote best emulates the right side of the argument I intend to write about today. The general population is full of debate upon the subject of assisted suicide and is always trying to argue whether it is morally right to help administer physician-assisted suicide to a patient who is going to die within a short time frame.…

Is it okay to take the life of another, but only if they are in agonizing pain and terminally ill to quickly end the pain or is it better to let them die after days, weeks, months, even years of torture? What dignifies whether or not assisted suicide is right or wrong, the morals of humanity, or the laws set by religious community? It can’t be at all kind to let close relatives and even strangers live through the most terrible pain imaginable, while we sit and watch, not truly aware of the pain. Many believe taking another’s life away is the same as murder, when all in all it is what the person really wanted. Some may want to live and fight through the pain for their family’s sake, but other aren’t as strong and want a fast way out, and want to take that route, with or without their family’s consent.…
