Elizabeth was known for astonishing accomplishments during her reign such as defeating the Spanish Armada to making her reign known as the Golden Age! However, Elizabeth was mainly known simply because she was the Virgin Queen who ruled with no man to the throne. During this time period, this was remarkably outstanding simply because women were viewed to obey and serve men, however, Elizabeth challenged this, she broke free of what society told her was right! She paved her own path to success in life without concern for societal norms during her reign. There were many reasons Queen Elizabeth didn’t marry, however, the main reason as to her refusal was the fact that if she did marry, her crown and her authority would be given to her husband.

Long before the Elizabethan era women were told that they were inferior to men and were completely dominated by the male members of their families. Their father’s title was passed onto the male members of the family, however, the only exception was the monarchy. Elizabeth was the first woman to take on her father’s title and rule a country by herself.
