As I started reading this weeks assignment I found myself I was reading scenario's from my life. I have cared for my grandparents as well as my husbands grandparents and parents, I feel grateful that we were able to care for them in a family situation till their deaths.
I feel that Elder Abuse is wrong but can sometimes be miscommunicated by the aged person who is being cared for. You have to take into consideration their mental clarity and medications with side effects that may be interpreted as abuse. Some elderly are sensitive to touch and may react adversely when approached by someone not familiar to them.
I feel we need more control in our systems so that elderly receive treatment from physicians, who have all of their history
