Why Is Early Childhood Education Important

I think Early Childhood Education is important because it relates to the overall development of children. Within the early childhood education program a person gets to teach children age birth through 3rd grade. I think it is important to study the areas of physical, social, and the emotional development of children. I like learning about all the different developmental stages of young children. I have been told that the future success of every child is in many ways is determined before he or she turns 8 years old. The basic skills taught in the early years of life are necessary to be successful in the future. The NAEYC is the world's largest advocacy organization devoted to early childhood learning. Many colleges are expanding their programs to include infants and toddlers. For example, some HeadStart program locations now have infants and toddlers instead of just preschool children. I believe sending your kids to pre-school and kindergarten is very important so that they can get more social skills and interactions and it also teaches independence and self-reliance to kids. A teachers role is to provide a safe and caring environment where the children are allowed to develop naturally. I think it is important to provide a safe environment for children to learn and grow as they age. In the area I live in many of the families do not have much money so when they are at the school I substitute teach at we make sure the kids get plenty of food at breakfast and lunch to nourish their bodies. Sometimes we even send food, and snacks home with them so that they can have something extra and something to share with their siblings.
